We are loving bright, bold colours this season. From pinks to blues and everything in between, we want it to be bright and we want it to pop!

Sweet Accessories for Your Sweet!

I don't know about you, but I love sweets. Cookies, cakes, pies; you name it, I love it. That's why I was super duper excited to see this new line from Sugar Rush called, well, Sweet!

These pieces are so yummy, you'll want to eat them up. But I recommend just wearing them! There are rings, necklaces and hairpins, all adorable and affordable.

This delicious trend is definitely one I can get behind. Yum!

Feathered accessories on sale

Feathers seem to be the latest trend, and it's a trend we're more than willing to follow. We love our feathered accessories from Headmistress. Whether you like clips, stretchy bands or a classic headband, there is a gorgeous feather-y accessory just for you. And also, just for you, they are currently on sale at 25% off. Lucky!

Shades of Grey

You may have noticed that there's been a lot of shades of grey this season...so Odd Bird has decided to have fun with that fact by offering another type of "grey" to wear:

A lovely greyhound tunic! The greyhound is printed onto a charcoal tunic top that is made from Eco-Heather material (organic cotton, recycled polyester & naturally occurring rayon) It has a "worn" look yet is quite comfortable to wear. The deep V-neck is meant for layering. And don't think that because it's short sleeved that your limited to wearing it in the warmer weather....just throw on a shrug or cardigan over it & your good to go!

There's also domino jewellery featuring the same greyhound too!

Stripes don't have to be just for sailors and jailbirds, oh no. We've done up our favourite trapeze dress in a great white, brown and blue stripe! It is so darling! Stop by Fresh Collective soon to try one on.

critter charms

This fall, we're seeing lots of wearable animals in the form of charms! We especially love these necklaces from Sugar Rush. Whether you like squirrels or bears, there's a necklace for you!

bold patterns

This fall, we're super excited to see bold patterns and prints hitting all of the stores. We've got houndstooth, polka dots and stripes, all done in bold black and white. And what's awesome about black and white is you can match it with any and all colours. Think of all the layering options!

plaid!

Fall is one of our favourite seasons here at Fresh Baked Goods HQ and mostly because we all share an intense love for all things PLAID. We've been making some new amazing dresses in plaids and tweeds and wools and we just know you are going to love them!

Shown below are two of our new dress styles: a mod trapeze dress that features a three-quarter sleeve and delightfully swishy skirt and a sleeveless jumper with adorable pockets. Both are lined with gorgeous bright silky fabrics.

coffee sleeves!

With the garbage strike still in full effect (when oh when will it end?!), it's even more "trendy" to reduce, reuse and recycle. A great way to produce less waste is to use a coffee sleeve from Cipolla! These fabric sleeves come in an array of prints and fit on all standard size coffee cups. And they easily clip on to a key chain when not in use! Awesome.

Because we know that not everybody loves sushi and cupcakes, we whipped up some dresses with an awesome rockin' theme. The prints feature guitars on one, and motorcycles and skulls on the other. Both dresses are finished off with a great flounce on the bottom. Jessie and Siân are wearing them with some rock-chick accessories: chain necklaces from Electric Lollipop and scrabble B-A-D necklace from Odd Bird.

We're seeing that earrings are making a fabulous comeback and it couldn't be more perfect, because we've got some amazing earrings from nearly all of our jewelery designers. Here is a very, very, very (did we say very?) small selection of the earrings we have:

So we've been noticing in all of the summer fashion magazines, bright and bold colours are all the rage. Well, it just so happens that we've got an amazingly bright and bold peasant flounce dress. Check out this pattern:

Silkscrreen prints everywhere!

Many of our designers use silkscreening to bring you great prints like these!

The two with crossword puzzle panels are men's briefs from Candi Factory. The bug, shoe, Bad Angel and raven are silkscreened images which are then handpainted by Utility Grade. They are sewn into a frame cut into tees, tops and tanks.

The kid eating mac 'n' cheese is a Sugar and Cream print made into a baby tee shirt by Bun, and the flower is a print on a dress by Whirl Girl. Finally the tree in the top left corner is on a mens top by Yasmine Louis.

Spring Critters

No lack of critters in the store this season! 

We'll start with our feathered friends....always popular & more so during the Spring.

We have a stylized owl necklace, bird-on-a-branch silhouette necklace, bird's nest necklace & 2 kissing swallows with crystal heart necklace all set against a bluebird tank top.

We have a stylized woodpecker duo necklace that looks great against traditional floral prints (as shown below) as well with modern or plain prints....a versatile jewellery piece indeed!

Lots of insecty action happening too!

Check out the beetle domino pendant, spider web MP3 cover, bumble bee silhouette necklace & bee-on-a-sunflower brooch set against a beetle t-shirt.

Oh Deer me!

A subtle "Sign of the Times" shirt for Spring!

You know it's Spring when you hear the frogs down at the local pond.

Odd Bird's latest attire offering features a cute frog print on a Moroccan style top. It's made with stretchy gauze material for excellent recovery (as it is One Size fits Most) with half-sleeves and a plungeing neckline to show off your cleavage! So it's def meant to be layered over a tank top or camisole. The cactus colour is a lovely shade of green too, perfect for Spring!

But wait, look a little closer at the printed image: this froggy has something to say about the current economic situation!

Wearing this top is sure to get some smiles this Spring!

Winged Things for Spring

Spring will be here before you know it...and with it arrives many wonderful "winged" things!

We're seeing them slowly creep into the store in the form of butterflies, birds & other insects.

We have these vintage button-cab earrings. The image is quite detailed as the butterfly's wings are highlighted in gold accents!

Songbird zippy pouch, Victorian Bird Illustration necklace, Butterfly disk necklace (which features turquoise nuggets incorporated into the chain, how beautiful is that?) Blackbird & Heart dangly earrings & big Butterfly Hoop earrings. This is just a small sample of what we have. So be sure to drop into the store to see what more "things with wings" are in stock. But don't wait too long as once the warmer weather starts, these Spring items are sure to "fly" away!

Bear it!

Forest critters are always popular, and right now were seeing a few bears make thier way into the shop for Spring!

Perhaps due to a possible Bear Market?

Or maybe they are just emerging from thier hibernation?

The Dancing Bear on this pendant sure looks happy! Perhaps he is anticipating an early Spring...let's hope that does happen!

Frida Kahlo is popular this Spring. This famous artist's face is showing up everywhere, including at the Collective! So if you are a Frida fan (or know someone who is) or maybe your someone who just likes to celebrate talented women then check out the Frida goodies here:

The Great Outdoors is hot!

Canadian Wilderness has been a recurring theme with our designers this winter...and no wonder, who doesn't love the great outdoors?

We have men's boxers adorned with moose (like the one seen above here) canoes & even a backyard staple: lawn chairs!

Argyle continues to be popular and we have it on scarves with animal silhouettes! The Stag's Head is shown here but there's other critter designs available like squirrels & crows too!

But wait, there's more: A Snowshoe greeting card, Trout threader earrings, Forest Critters cuff bracelet, Moose-in-a-Heart baby tee & a bronze Squirrel ring!

Fall 2008 Patterns

Fall 2008 is seeing the return of seasonal pattern favourites: plaids & argyles...which we have arriving into the store almost daily now!

Cipolla has loads of accessories in such textile patterns. Some have added details, such as these scarves with the bird, spider & tree applique's on them.

There's also plaid scarves should you prefer something a bit more basic. You can never go wrong with plaid, it's such a classic. Yet a simple way to dress up a plain Fall coat!

Odd Bird has put a twist on the classic argyle top by adding an adorable Boston Terrier print to it...and yes, the dog is smoking a pipe! The top is accessorized here with a hat by Momiji, a scarf by Cipolla & crystal necklace by Electric Lollipop.
